As an extracurricular activity the second Impuls Festival was held from 11th until 13th of May, organised by a group of students from Scene Architecture, Technologies and Design department. Led by this year’s headline, “Where is our scene?!” the organisers tried to, through this festival find out the contemporary state and form of the representational scene, investigated the borders between the existing scene types but also managed new scene spaces, answering the posed question.

Six-program units were filled with content by the students, making them the selectors. Program of the festival, consisted of debates, film projections, music events, exhibitions, workshops and theatre events, was held in Scen Lab “Borislav Gvojić”, Culture Center LAB and K9 Station studio.

Festival was open on May 11th in the Scen Lab with a lecture held by Zenica’s director – Selma Spahić. In the talk with Selma, the audience could find out more about young director’s views, her opinion on contemporary regional and world theatre scene and where she gets her inspiration from. Furthermore, the attendees could hear more about art approach to making of one of her plays, as well as about the plays selection process for the International theatre festival MESS, being that she has been the selector of it for the last decade.

Following the lecture, the audience could watch student films, various in the release dates but similar in the motif of experimenting and deviation from the conventional. During these 90 minutes, films being projected were of short meter both selected and chosen through the competition.

Second day of the festival, the 12th of May, was marked with the multimedia program held at the K9 station. Lara Bunčić and Dve čađave (Milana Nikić and Filip Sćekić), the concept artists of that unit, showed their idea through the synthesis of elements of scene design: space, sound, light, costume and movement. The event was realised with the aim of bringing a unique thematic experience the viewer a, through the unity of the mentioned elements.

The volume of sculptural works of Arpad Slančik, surrounded the performing area in which center the musical and theater performances took place (students of Academy of Arts from Novi Sad: Viktorija Palfi, Rade Maričić, Anica Petrović, Isidora Vlček, Stefan Beronja, Ana Rudakijević and Nevena Nerandžić). In this way, the performers managed to, through their movement extend the artist’s sculptures to show the emotions of contemporary man’s position in the world, in the show of hinted move, anatomical form of a human with emphasized stretched limbs in degenerated poses.

Placed sculptures unified and brought to life through movement and costume are enriched with the sound of electronic music, erasing the boundaries between artistic show, dramatic form, concept and fun. Music support was assured with Dve čađave (Milana Nikić i Filip Šćekić), NEUTRON and DJ duo Acoustic tree and Pura.

Program of sculpturing workshop Experiment: soul, led by the artist Arpad Slančik, lasted for three days. The whole workshop was held in LAB Culture Center in which the exhibition under the same name also took place on the 13th of May, showing the individual works of the workshop attendees.
